Progress Linux releases are scheduled in line with the respective Debian release they are based on. This is a tentative release schedule.

The upper-next major release will be Progress Linux 4 (dschinn) and be based on Debian 9 (unknown).

Lifespan

Progress Linux releases will be supported with security updates as long as the respective Debian release it is based on.

Release 1 (artax)

supported for minimum 1 year after the 2 (baureo)/7 (wheezy) release, means effectively supported until 2014-06 or longer.

Release 1+ (artax-backports)

supported for minimum 1 year after the 2 (baureo)/7 (wheezy) release, means effectively supported until 2014-06 or longer.

Release 2 (baureo)

supported for minimum 1 year after the 3 (cairon)/8 (jessie) release, means effectively supported until 2016-06 or longer.

Release 2+ (baureo-backports)

supported for minimum 1 year after the 3 (cairon)/8 (jessie) release, means effectively supported until 2016-06 or longer.

Release 3 (cairon)

supported for minimum 1 year after the 4 (dschinn)/9 (unknown) release, means effectively supported until 2018-06 or longer.

Release 3+ (cairon-backports)

supported for minimum 1 year after the 4 (dschinn)/9 (unknown) release, means effectively supported until 2018-06 or longer.
